How To Maintain Consistent Sales On Poshmark

Constantly Googling “How to increase sales on Poshmark”? Same. Since I began reselling in early 2019, I’ve eventually picked up on some daily Posh methods that have brought me consistent sales. Here’s the truth: the more you put in, the more you’ll get out. Shocker, right?

I think sometimes there’s a lag with this, though, which can be discouraging. We’ll coast through a day or two without doing much and still get consistent sales. Then, once sales dip and we eventually start to put in more effort, it may take another day or two (or three or four) until sales pick back up.

The name of the game is raising your engagement level on Poshmark - in turn, winning the favor of the Poshmark algorithm gods. I’ll admit, some of the methods are based on urban legend and myth (what actually happens if you decline an offer?) rather than solid case studies. But hey, if it works, it works, ya know?

Note: Some of these methods have been adapted from Lyn Cromar’s 30 Minute Method.

✩ Share Your Closet 3-5x A Day

Probably a given, but I couldn’t not include it. Sharing an item in your closet brings it to the top of a search of its category. Major exposure.

✩ Accept Offers

Some solid advice I’ve heard in determining whether to accept or counteroffer: If you think you’ll be sad if you send a counteroffer and don’t make the sale, just accept the offer! Still thinking of that skirt I would have sold months ago…

✩ Don’t You Dare Decline An Offer

Maybe urban legend, but all the same - don’t decline an offer. Send the same counteroffer if you must, or else take upon you the wrath of all enraged Poshmark algorithm gods.

✩ List 3-5 New Items Daily

This hugely raises your engagement level on the app, getting you on the good side of Posh’s algorithm. Even when I don’t have new inventory to list, I’ll re-list old inventory to make sure I’m adding at least 3 new listings to my closet daily. Insider tip: I’ve heard that 4+ new listings is the sweet spot.

✩ Use A Listing Template

Struggling with your listing description? #poshhack - I have a blank listing template saved as a note on my phone to make listing on Posh quick + easy. This has been a game changer for me - I know exactly what info to add to a listing to make sure it’s complete.

✩ Get Seen By Posh Buyers

Click the “About” page of a user and scroll through the love notes they’ve received. Spend time sharing the closets of the cuties who left a love note to get their eyes on your closet.

✩ Respond To Comments ASAP

Something I just started practicing. When a potential buyer asks something that I’m not able to answer at that moment, I’ll let them know. Just a quick “Thanks for your q! I’ll let you know once I’m home this evening” will suffice.

✩ Follow All Followers

This also raises your engagement level on the app. Poshmark shows 1,000 of your followers at a time. It only takes me a couple minutes to scroll through and (one-click) follow all accounts I’m not already following.

✩ Community Shares

Spend some time sharing your PFFs and previous customers’ closets, and returning shares from your notifications.

✩ Engage With New Poshers

Find the ‘Just Joined’ Poshers within the Poshmark app and welcome them to the community! I spend some time posting a welcome message to their ‘Meet the Posher’ post and following the ones whose closets I like.

These are things I do on daily basis to maintain consistent sales. There's a whole lot more you can do (offers to likers, price drops, bundling likes, etc.), which I will save for future blog posts.

Have you tried all of these? What are your favorites? Let me know in a comment below!
