Everything You Need To Know To Host A Posh N Sip

So you want to host a Posh n Sip? Amazing! I would 100% recommend it. I’ve hosted two Posh n Sips and have been able to meet PFF’s IRL, connect with other local Poshers, and raise engagement on both Instagram and Poshmark. Here’s everything I have learned + wished I knew along the way.

Attend A Posh N Sip

This will give you an idea of what a Posh n Sip is all about, what works, what doesn’t, and what you want from your Posh n Sip.

Define Your Posh N Sip

Poshmark categorizes Posh n Sips by the following:

1. Intimate gathering: Get together with family and friends to introduce Poshmark.

2. Listing party: Help each other get fresh listings and share covershot tips and tricks.

3. Social: Go out with your PFFs for sourcing, brunch or coffee.

4. Seminar: Teach new Poshers the ins and outs of Poshmark—guest speaker optional!

Set A Budget For Yourself

Decide whether your Posh n Sip is going to be free, or if you’ll need to charge attendees for a ticket (e.g. you're doing an all-inclusive brunch). Determine how much you’ll need so you can charge attendees a fair price and not go crazy with extra decorations, extravagant raffle prizes, 2008 Merlot, etc.

Cohost Or Solo?

A cohost can be a big help to you (planning, promoting, funding, setting up, etc.), but you’ll have to determine who is the main host and make sure there is a clear understanding of responsibilities. Poshmark only counts the milestone achievements for the main host.

Create An Event Page + Promote It

Create an event page either on Eventbrite or Facebook, and promote the page on your Instagram. Keep the buzz going by continuing to promote your event at least once a week.

Let Poshmark Know About Your Posh N Sip

Once you’ve created an event page, fill out Posh's form HERE to let them know! They’ll send you Poshmark Decor Box + keep track of your hosting milestones. Be sure to let them know at least 3 weeks in advance.

Set RSVP Expectations

My mom always said to expect half of the people you invite to a party to be able to make it. If you have a free RSVP, expect a lot more people to RSVP than to actually attend your Posh n Sip. Having a Posh n Sip with tickets you pay for would help make the headcount a lot more accurate.

Plan Events During Your Posh N Sip

Sourcing, brunching, games, or even just a raffle. Plan things to do at your Posh n Sip to keep guests entertained and to have a clear end time.

Create Your Own Posh N Sip Hashtag

#NYPPoshnSip, for example. Have all your attendees tag your hashtag when posting photos to easily find each other + all the Posh n Sip photos.

Obtain All Attendee’s Info

Get at least the name, Posh closet, and Instagram of every attendee. You can request this upon RSVP’ing or have some kind of check-in at your event.

Keep In Touch With Your Attendees

Follow your attendees on Instagram + tag them in all your Posh n Sip pics. Share their Posh closets + consider them your new PFF!
