7 Easy Hacks To Jumpstart Your Focus

I can't tell you how many times I've sat staring at my computer screen, waiting for the motivation or inspiration gods to strike. Like, literally just all the way on E, nothing in the tank to do anything, ya know? It's not that I'm tired (also I can't take naps), it's just I have no will to do anything. With a growing list of to-do's, those times can feel overwhelming and despairing.

I got you, babe. I'm sharing 7 super simple and easy hacks to jumpstart your focus and just get sh*t done. As cheesy as it may sound, you can accomplish all the things with the right mindset, so let's do this!

1. Start Easy

A seemingly never-ending to-do list can feel so discouraging and impossible. Like where do you even start? I'll tell you: start small! Pick the easiest, or the most exciting task on your to-do list and get it done. Right then and there. Cross that off your to-do list and feel all the boss babe energy. Yas girl! You can do all the things! Honestly, you'd be surprised what crossing one small thing off your to-do list can do for your motivation.

2. Check Your Posture

It's no secret that your body's posture directly affects your mood. When you're feeling unmotivated and lazy, notice your posture. Are you slouched? Laying down? Make sure your head is up, shoulders back, and back straight. Tall and confident. Think: I am a powerful boss babe. I can accomplish all the things I want to.

3. Jam To Music

If you're not listening to music, put on your fav playlist and get to it! If you're already listening to music, change the playlist completely. Put on a whole different vibe, and adjust the volume either louder or quieter, depending on what the task at hand calls for.

4. Clean Space

I literally cannot work in a messy environment. I can't. I have to put away anything in my vicinity that's out of place. Even if you don't feel like you're like that - try it. Next time you're feeling slow and unmotivated, just clean up a little bit. Make your bed, put away your dishes, etc. Just the act of moving around and getting those simple tasks done can really raise your endorphins and make you feel better already.

5. Change Your Scenery

Go outside if you're inside (or vise versa), move rooms, sit on a different chair--shake it up! A change of scenery can really do you good if you're stuh-ruggling to get sh*t done. Look at the task with a new perspective!

6. Get Fresh

Sometimes moving outside is not a viable option for what you need to get done. In that case, open a window and sit in some direct sunlight if you can. Feel the vitamin D soak into your blood stream. Yas, sweet natural energy. Another quick tip: take a shower. It honestly feels like a total reset and just such a refreshing push to get sh*t done.

7. Don Your Blue Light Glasses

When I put on my blue light glasses, I feel like there's no messing around. Like, okay, you had your fun, now it's time to work type vibes. Not to mention, they keep my eyes from feeling all drained and fatigued at the end of a full day working on my computer. Linking a few of my favs below.
